We are one of Milton Keynes’ longest established independent residential letting and management specialists. Our owner, Alex Caravello, has over 20 years experience in the lettings industry, as a professional landlord and letting agent and 10 years acting as a landlord and tenant representative.
The Right Place, founded by owner Alex Caravello, is one of the longest established independent residential lettings and management specialists in Milton Keynes. We are professional landlords ourselves, so our business has grown out of a genuine understanding of what landlords need from their management agent and their investment. We have grown up, worked, lived and raised our own families in Milton Keynes. We love the area, and we have the local knowledge to deliver an unrivalled, personal property management service. We have a reputation for honesty, professionalism and reliability and it’s our mission to maintain it.
Branch Manager
I’m a lettings industry veteran, clocking up 25+ years experience both as a landlord and letting agent. I’ve also spent over 15+ years acting as a landlord and tenant representative. In short, there’s not much I don’t know about the successful letting of residential property, especially in Milton Keynes.
The best bit about my job relates – oddly – to challenges! It’s really satisfying to know that we can meet anything thrown our way – including COVID-19. It means our landlords are earning a stable income from their property while their tenants have a comfortable and secure place to call home. That’s what I call a successful letting agency.
The other side of my life revolves around my family – my wife, daughter and dog Buddy. My wife and I are trained Rock ‘n’ Roll dancers and have been National Champions in the past. I also enjoy outdoor life, especially with Buddy. Favourite places include Milton Keynes with all its greenery and lakes and the East Norfolk coast for walking holidays. We also spend time in the beautiful Spanish region of Andalucía, enjoying the rural scenery, great food and volunteering at a dog re-homing sanctuary.
Accounts Manager
I support every aspect of the business, ensuring the ‘back office’ runs smoothly. For example, making sure client accounts are up to date in every aspect and all tenancy-related communications are followed up promptly. I also have overall responsibility for inspection reports.
Having spent much of my working life in project management, I understand the importance of having procedures that are fit-for-purpose. This includes achieving exactly the right balance of digital and people power!
In my spare time, you’ll find me spending time with with the two most important things in my life: my family and ‘everything 1950s’, especially Rock n’ Roll dancing.
Maintenance Manager
My responsibility focuses entirely on property maintenance. I’m the one who conducts regular inspections of our landlords’ properties and ensures that they stay in the very best condition.
I’m a STROMA-certified electrician with many (45+) years experience in construction and property maintenance. As a result, I can quickly diagnose most problems and instruct the right contractor to attend quickly to the satisfaction of both landlord and tenant.
My family matters a lot to me and I spend as much time with them as possible. I also care deeply about my rescue dog, Maddie. She’s a great companion and I look forward to our walks together, whatever the weather.
Office Manager
I manage the day-to-day running of the office. A lot of my work revolves around inspection reports and handling the administration of repairs and maintenance of landlords’ properties. I liaise with tenants, make appointments for inspections and generally help to ensure that any issues are resolved quickly.
As a ‘people person’, helping tenants get a repair sorted is very satisfying for me, particularly if it eases a stressful situation.
Outside of work, I can be found rescuing animals. My husband and I have a rescue dog called Maddie. Also, we have 14 (at the last count) ‘retired’ chickens from the British Hen Welfare who keep the whole village stocked up with their lovely eggs. Our 9 grandchildren are also a big part of our lives and – much to everyone’s surprise – I’m a big fan of heavy metal music!
Wally Smart
Viewings Negotiator
I have an encyclopedic knowledge of Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas, having spent several decades as a lorry driver delivering building materials for a major local Builders Merchant, before joining The Right Place.
I enjoy meeting prospective tenants, building rapport and helping them to make informed decisions about their next home.
Judith Healy
Lettings Administrator
I manage the entire tenant onboarding process. I book property viewings with potential tenants and, once they’re registered with us, I help them find the right place to live. For example, ensuring pet owners only view pet-friendly rentals.
I love the variety of my job – one minute I could be helping a young person find a 1 bed flat, the next minute I’m talking to an executive seeking a family home. When I’ve booked the viewing that results in someone finding the right place to live and taking on a tenancy, it makes me really happy!
Outside of work, my interests are my lovely daughter, knitting and meeting my fitness goals (with my PT) – in that order!
